Poster Design Workshops: Symbol Posters

LINOCUT PRINTING | BASIC LEVEL

About this workshop

In this workshops, participants were introduced to the basics of linocut carving and printing techniques. They learn how to identify what makes an ideal image for a linocut artwork. Students were either doing own design or they were using the ready ones to print. Using various linocut blades, students were carving the lino block to create a positive image. Finally, they ink the image using a roller with block printing ink and print the image onto paper or fabric surface.

This single-session workshop, we could learn to design the product, carve onto a lino block, and print on different surfaces.

We were mainly focusing on creating an image that was printed with a single or duo colour. Of course, it was possible to print the same design in various different colours.
